Senate — July 15, 2026
Committees carried much of the substantive policy workload. The Environment and Public Works Committee advanced S. 4949, a water resources and rivers-and-harbors measure, while the Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee examined a wide-ranging package of public lands, mining, geothermal, offshore decommissioning, and Federal lands broadband bills. Other Senate committees conducted oversight and nomination hearings on monetary policy, TRICARE pharmacy benefits, fraud, public-health leadership, the Attorney General nomination, the Director of National Intelligence nomination, and foreign control in the drug supply chain. The Senate also handled several unanimous-consent matters. It adopted resolutions opposing clemency for Samuel Bankman-Fried, honoring victims of the Highland Park mass shooting, commemorating the 2016 West Virginia floods, and welcoming the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In addition, the Senate entered an agreement for a possible July 16 motion-to-proceed vote on S.J. Res. 198, a Congressional Review Act resolution addressing CMS’s Medicare WISeR prior authorization model.
House — July 15, 2026
The July 15, 2026 House Congressional Record excerpt consisted entirely of Extensions of Remarks, combining routine publication of the Senate committee schedule with numerous House Member statements honoring constituents and community figures.
